Alternatives

Some patients may find that Bazuka Treatment Gel isn’t as effective at treating their symptoms. Here at Simple Online Pharmacy, we have a number of alternatives available, including;

Practical Tips

Warts and verrucas can be easily spread, whether amongst families or out in public; the following advice should help avoid infection, or avoid spreading it if you are already infected;

Avoid touching the verruca - aside from during treatment, you should avoid touching the verruca at all times. If you do need to touch it, consider wearing disposable gloves, or washing your hands thoroughly straight away.
Get your own towel - sharing a towel can easily spread the virus that causes verrucas. Where possible, keep your towels separate from anyone else’s, and make sure to wash it regularly.
Keep your feet covered - shower socks can help keep your feet covered even in the shower, while a simple pair of slippers can be enough to help limit the spread elsewhere in the house.
Keep your socks clean - when your socks get sweaty, they become a perfect breeding ground for microorganisms; hot, moist and near lots of nooks and crannies to grow in. Don’t wear the same socks for more than a day at a time, and do not share socks or hosiery with anyone else.
Protect broken skin - areas of cracked or broken skin will be much more susceptible to the virus that causes warts and verrucas. Where possible, keep these areas covered with dressings or plasters while they heal.

FAQ

How does Bazuka Gel work?

Warts, corns, calluses and verrucas all share a few common characteristics. One of these is layers of hardened, dead skin cells that cover the problem. Bazuka uses a combination of salicylic and lactic acids, which break down the hardened skin, loosening it to allow it to be picked off or removed with an emery board or pumice stone.

This acidic treatment also allows Bazuka to kill the virus that causes warts and verrucas. Once removed, healthy skin should grow back in place of the problem area.

Side Effects

Bazuka Treatment Gel Side Effects

As with all medications, some users may experience side effects when using Bazuka Treatment Gel - however, most will not.

While the gel is working, you may feel a tingling sensation and some tenderness in the treatment area. This is usually temporary, and may present as a blemi/sh on the skin.

If this product touches skin outside the treatment area, it may cause irritation.

Stop using this product if you experience unacceptable discomfort, or if any of your side effects become serious.

Directions

How To Use Bazuka Gel

Please read the full Patient Information Leaflet before using this product.

This product is suitable for adults, the elderly, and children over the age of 2. Children under 12 should be treated under supervision.

Apply once each day, usually in the evening, until the wart, corn or verruca disappears;

  • Soak the affected area in warm water for 2 to 3 minutes
  • Dry the area thoroughly
  • Remove the protective cap, taking care not to squeeze the tube or remove the nozzle
  • Carefully apply a thin coating (one or two drops) to the wart only, taking care to avoid getting any on the surrounding skin
  • Allow the gel to dry for a few minutes. It should form a small white patch that sticks to the treated area, and is water resistant. There is no need to add a waterproof plaster or other covering.
  • Always replace the cap after use.
  • The next evening, carefully peel or pick off the white patch from the treatment area. If it is difficult to remove, add a single drop of gel to the white patch to help thicken it, making it easier to remove.
  • Once removed, apply a fresh layer of gel as described above.
  • Once every week, gently rub the wart, verruca, corn or callus with the included emery board. You can also try removal with a pumice stone.

The length of treatment may vary; some will disappear in a very short time, while others may take up to 12 weeks to be fully removed. It is important to continue with the treatment until the wart, verruca or corn has completely disappeared (unless irritation occurs).

If your wart, corn, verruca or callus has not disappeared within 12 weeks of treatment, consult your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
