About Bonjela Cool Mint Gel
Bonjela Cool Mint Gel provides fast and effective relief of pain, discomfort and inflammation from mouth ulcers, braces, dentures and cold sores.
Bonjela uses two active ingredients; choline salicylate, which acts as both a painkiller and anti- inflammatory to soothe sore areas and reduce inflammation, and cetalkonium chloride, an antiseptic to fight infection and keep the area clean while it heals.
Always read the label before use.
Alternatives
Some patients may find that Bonjela Cool Mint Gel isn’t as effective at treating their symptoms. Here at Simple Online Pharmacy, we have a number of alternatives available, including;
Practical Tips
Mouth ulcers can be an irritating condition. Follow these simple tips to help treat mouth ulcers, and reduce the pain you experience while you have them;
Avoid further irritation - ulcers need time to heal. Any extra irritation not only hurts, but can set back your healing time. It may even create opportunities for infection. Use a soft-bristled toothbrush, avoid hot drinks and make sure to avoid toothpastes which contain SLS (sodium lauryl sulphate).
Salt water rinse - a simple but effective home remedy. Simply add a teaspoon of salt to a glass of warm water and rinse the mouth out (like a mouthwash). Rinsing with a saline solution will not only keep the ulcer clean, but can also provide some help with the pain without further irritation.
Check for causes - mouth ulcers can be caused by a number of issues. However, the most common are being over-tired, stressed or anxious; sharp parts of broken teeth and ill-fitting dentures can cause ulcers in your lips and tongue, while minor burns and scratches from food and drink can also contribute towards ulcers.
