Systane Lubricant Eye Drops Side Effects

How To Use Systane Eye Drops 

Wash your hands before applying this treatment.

Tilt your head back, pulling down your lower eyelid.

Do not allow the tip of the dropper bottle to touch your eye.

Allow 1 or 2 drops to fall from the bottle onto your eye.

Close your eye and put pressure on the inside corner of your eye for 1 to 2 minutes. This helps keep the drug in your eye.

Repeat for the other eye if required.

This medication can be used as many times a day as required.

Wash your hands after applying this medication and touching your eyes.

If your symptoms worsen or do not improve after 72 hours, speak to your doctor or pharmacist.

Warnings for use of Systane Gel Eye Drops 

For external use only.

Do not use this product if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.

Do not use this product if it changes colour or becomes cloudy.

When using this product, do not touch the tip of the container to any surface to avoid contamination, and replace the cap after each use. 

Systane Gel Drops can be used with contact lenses - we recommend removing any contacts before application, and allowing 15 minutes before re-applying your contacts to avoid damage to them.

Systane Gel Ingredients

Active Ingredients - Polyethylene Glycol 400 0.4%, Propylene Glycol 0.3% 

Inactive Ingredients - Aminomethylpropanol, boric acid, edetate disodium, hydroxypropyl guar, POLYQUAD® (polyquaternium-1) 0.001% preservative, potassium chloride, sodium chloride, sorbitol and purified water. May contain hydrochloric acid and/or sodium hydroxide to adjust pH.
