What is Accrete D3?
Accrete D3 tablets is a medication that contains calcium and vitamin D3. The active ingredients are calcium carbonate and 400units (10 micrograms) of colecalciferol. Each tablet contains 1500mg of calcium carbonate which provided 600mg of calcium.
By taking the daily recommended dos this will add up to 20 micrograms of vitamin D and 1200mg of calcium a day.
How does it work?
Vitamin D and calcium work to help support healthy teeth, muscles and bones. Vitamin D aids the absorption of calcium in the body and helps to ensure that you are getting enough to support the key elements of the teeth, bones and muscles.
A Vitamin d deficiency can lead to conditions such as rickets in children, which can cause bone deformity, and osteoporosis in adults.
Who needs Accrete D3?
Certain people are at higher risk of vitamin D deficiency and therefore the problems associated with this deficiency. AT risk people include;
Frail or housebound people who aren't outdoors in sunlight enough
People who wear clothes that cover up their skin when outdoors
People with dark skin
People in a care home
It's difficult to get enough vitamin D from food alone and many people will not get enough sunlight in the winter in the UK. Public health England advise that everyone should take a vitamin d supplement between October and early March.

Directions
Take one Accrete D3 tablet twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. You can break the tablet in half to make it easier to swallow, if necessary, but don’t chew the tablet.
