Practical Tips
Dealing with nappy rash can be stressful, for both babies and parents. Follow these tips to make sure things go as smoothly as they can.
Change dirty nappies as soon as possible - one of the main causes of nappy rash is skin exposure to urine and faeces. Changing a dirty nappy as soon as possible will help to keep skin clear.
Keep them clean - use water or an alcohol-free baby wipe to clean the nappy area to prevent further irritation.
Keep them dry - gently dry the area once cleaned. Avoid vigorous rubbing, as this may cause further irritation.
Watch what you use - using soaps and baby powders can cause further irritation. Where possible, only use water and nappy rash creams while your baby has the rash.
