Gaviscon Cool Mint Liquid is reflux suppressant, which forms a protective layer on top of the stomach contents to prevent stomach acid escaping from the stomach where it works into the food pipe causing pain and discomfort.
This medicine is used for the treatment of symptoms of gastro-oesophageal reflux such as acid regurgitation, heartburn and indigestion (related to reflux), for example, following meals, or during pregnancy, or in patients with symptoms related to reflux oesophagitis.

Like all medicines, Gaviscon Cool Mint Liquid can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them
If you experience these side effects stop taking the product and consult your doctor immediately. Very rare (less than 1 in 10,000) chance of an allergic reaction to the ingredients. Symptoms of this may include skin rash, itching, difficulty breathing, dizziness, or swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat.

Directions
Directions of use for Gaviscon Cool Liquid
Shake well before use.
Adults and children over 12 years: take 10-20ml (two to four 5ml spoonfuls) after meals and at bedtime.
Children 6-12 years: take 5-10ml (one to two 5ml spoonfuls) after meals and at bedtime.
Children under 6 not recommended.
Warnings
Warnings for Gaviscon Cool Liquid
Each 10ml of Gaviscon Cool Liquid contains 6.2 mmol of sodium. If you have been asked to follow a low sodium (salt) diet ask your doctor before taking this product.
Do not take if you know you are allergic to any of the ingredients as skin rashes and difficulty in breathing have occurred (possibly delayed).
Consult your doctor if you experience these or any other side-effects.
Ingredients
Ingredients in Gaviscon Cool Liquid
500mg sodium alginate Ph Eur, 267mg sodium bicarbonate Ph Eur and 160mg calcium carbonate as the active ingredients.
It also contains Carbomer, Methyl (E218) and propyl(E216) parahydroxybenzoates, sodium saccharin, mint flavourings and water.
Gaviscon Cool liquid is sugar and gluten-free.
