About Maalox Suspension
Maalox suspension is a blend of three medicines, which together provide relief from trapped wind, indigestion and heartburn. This combination of dried aluminium hydroxide gel, magnesium hydroxide and simethicone can be used in those aged 2 years all the way up to the elderly.
How does Maalox work?
Dried aluminium hydroxide gel and magnesium hydroxide are both antacids. They neutralise the acid in your stomach, helping to soothe your stomach. Maalox also contains simethicone, a medicine which assists with preventing gas bubbles in the stomach and intestines, preventing flatulence.
Between these two actions, Maalox can help reduce stomach pain, bloating, and the burning sensation of heartburn and acid reflux.
