Bluechew is a chewable tablet, designed for treating erectile dysfunction, available in the US. Rather than swallowing a tablet, Bluechew is essentially gum impregnated with the active ingredient sildenafil citrate. This is the same active ingredient as in Viagra, and works the same way.

Currently, the company behind Bluechew offers sildenafil, tadalafil and vardenafil as chewable ED medications, using the same active ingredients as in Viagra, Cialis and Levitra respectively.

Bluechew offers the same effects as other ED medications, but the chewable form makes it easier to take discreetly. It also makes for an easier treatment for patients who have difficulties swallowing pills.

How does Bluechew Work?

Erections are caused when the penis fills with blood. This blood remains in the penis until the erection goes away. In erectile dysfunction, this blood flow may be restricted, making it difficult to achieve or maintain an erection that is suitable for sex.

Sildenafil is a type of drug called a PDE5 inhibitor; it makes blood vessels relax, allowing more blood to flow through them. This can allow more blood to flow into the penis, making it easier to get an erection.

Is Bluechew legal in the UK?

Bluechew is not sold in the UK, and is not legal in the UK or anywhere in Europe. This is because it does not have a licence in the EU as a medical treatment. For a product to be a legal medical product in the UK, it needs to have a product licence from the Medicine and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). Bluechew has been FDA approved (the United States’ equivalent), but this does not affect its availability in the UK.
