Order Ramipril Blood Pressure Capsules Online
Written by Clinical Pharmacist Hywel McGlinchy
Ramipril can be ordered online from our UK registered online doctor and pharmacy. Our doctors can prescribe it for you after checking that it is suitable and safe for you to take. They do this by reviewing a medical questionnaire that you complete during the ordering process. If authorised by our doctors, our pharmacy team will dispense the medicine and dispatch it to your chosen address.
Please note, this medication can only be prescribed as an emergency supply of your repeat prescription. You should receive a regular supply of this medication from your GP. Some people take more than one type of blood pressure medicine. If you would like to order an emergency request of all of your blood pressure medicines, you just need to fill out a consultation for each one.
What is Ramipril?
Ramipril is a medication used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It can also be prescribed to prevent people from having a heart attack if they have had one previously. Sometimes it is prescribed to people with heart failure, a condition that affects how well the heart pumps blood.
Ramipril is a type of medicine called an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor (ACE inhibitor). This is a common type of medicine prescribed to treat people diagnosed with high blood pressure.
How does it work?
Ramipril blocks an enzyme in the body called ACE. This enzyme causes the constriction of blood vessels which increases blood pressure. By blocking ACE, ramipril causes the blood vessels to relax and widen, allowing easier blood flow which lowers blood pressure.
When you have high blood pressure for a long time, it increases the risk of serious health problems like heart failure, heart attacks, strokes and kidney disease.
Taking medicine to reduce your blood pressure is important to reduce your risk of developing these complications.
Having an unhealthy lifestyle can cause high blood pressure. Some lifestyle changes can reduce the risk like exercising regularly, eating a healthy diet and reducing the amount of salt in your diet.
Stopping smoking and losing weight if you are overweight is a very effective lifestyle change people can make. We offer weight loss medication and stop smoking medication at Simple Online Pharmacy.
You can have a blood pressure check at your local pharmacy or GP surgery. Blood pressure monitors are also available to buy, allowing you to check your blood pressure reading at home.
Dose
Your doctor will decide the correct ramipril dose for you based on a number of factors, such as how high your blood pressure is. It is available as tablets or capsules in the following strengths: 1.25mg, 2.5mg, 5mg, and 10mg
The starting dose is often low (e.g ramipril 2.5mg) and can be increased gradually up to a maximum of ramipril 10mg daily. The dose can be taken once or twice daily, but take it exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
