What is Daktacort Cream?

Daktacort Hydrocortisone cream is a topical treatment that can be used by adults and children aged 10 and over to treat inflamed conditions of the skin such as eczema and dermatitis, which may be caused by an infection with certain fungi or bacteria.

Daktacort contains two active ingredients: miconazole 2% and hydrocortisone 1%. You can order the Daktacort cream 15g pack size online, but the Daktacort cream 30g pack size is a prescription-only medicine.

How does Daktacort work?

Daktacort contains the antifungal ingredient miconazole. Miconazole works by destroying the fungus that’s causing the skin infection. It can also work against certain bacteria that may be affecting the skin too.

The other ingredient in Daktacort is hydrocortisone, which is a mild topical steroid. This has an anti-inflammatory action on the affected skin and can help to reduce swelling, inflammation, itching, and redness.

Daktacort combines both ingredients to produce an antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial action. This means that it treats the cause of the skin infection, whilst soothing symptoms like itching and redness.

Fungal infections often present as itchy, inflamed, red, scaly rashes. They commonly appear in skin folds and in between the toes. The feet are particularly susceptible because shoes can become warm moist environments where fungus thrives.

What is Daktacort cream used for?

Daktacort cream is used to treat fungal skin infections, including treating inflamed sweat rashes and athlete’s foot. It helps to kill the fungi causing the infection. It also helps to reduce the inflammation, itching, and redness caused by the fungus.

If you are experiencing a fungal infection with inflammation signs then an alternative treatment such as Daktarin cream may be more suitable.  Find Daktarin cream here.

How long does Daktacort take to work?

You should notice an improvement in symptoms and appearance within a few days. If you find your skin condition worsens, or doesn’t improve after 7 days, you should contact your doctor or pharmacist for medical advice.

Before applying the cream, you should wash the infected area and pat it dry. You can then apply a small amount of cream to the affected area and rub it in gently until the cream disappears.
