How does Germoloids Cream work?

Germoloids is a soothing, pain relieving cream for piles. Germoloids Cream contains two active ingredients; lidocaine, a local anaesthetic that blocks pain signals, and zinc oxide, which helps promote wound healing and protects delicate areas with antiseptic properties.

What is the difference between Germoloids Cream vs Ointment?

Both these products contain the same active ingredients (zinc oxide and lidocaine). However, Germoloids Cream is thinner, and some find it easier to apply.

Germoloids Side Effects

As with all medications, some users may experience side effects when using Germoloids Ointment - however, most will not.

In some rare cases, you may experience local irritation, with burning sensations and rashes at the site of treatment. These may be signs of an allergic reaction.

How To Use Germoloids Cream 

Adults and children aged 12 years and older only.

External haemorrhoids - apply cream directly onto the affected area.

Internal haemorrhoids - screw the applicator tip onto the tube. Smear some of the cream onto the outside of the nozzle to assist in application. Carefully insert the applicator into the anus.

Gently squeeze the tube whilst withdrawing the nozzle, to move the cream up the anus.

Wash and clean the nozzle, tube and your hands before and after application.

Apply morning and night, and as required after each bowel movement.

Do not use this product more than 4 times in a 24-hour period, with a minimum of 3 to 4 hours between applications. 

Not suitable for children under 12 without a doctor’s permission.

If symptoms persist past 7 days of treatment, speak to your doctor.

Warnings for use of Germoloids Cream 

Do not use the product if you are allergic to zinc oxide, lidocaine or any of the listed ingredients.

Speak to your doctor before using this product if you have recurring haemorrhoids, or if they are particularly severe. Speak to your doctor if you are experiencing excessive bleeding from your piles.

Speak to your doctor before using this product if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The active ingredient, lidocaine, can be absorbed into the skin and may be expressed in breastmilk.

Germoloids Cream Ingredients

Active Ingredients -  zinc oxide (6.6% w/w) and lidocaine hydrochloride (0.7% w/w). 

Other Ingredients - emulsifying wax, white soft paraffin, methyl salicylate, methyl hydroxybenzoate (E218), butyl hydroxybenzoate and water.
