Ibuleve Speed Relief Gel Side Effects

The most common side effects of ibuprofen gels are mild skin rashes, itching or irritation at the site of application. The skin may become sensitive to light, causing sunburn or peeling on the affected area.

If you experience any of the following side effects, stop using Ibuleve Max Strength Gel immediately and consult your doctor: 

• Allergic reactions, particularly in people who have a history of asthma or allergic problems. This can include unexplained runny nose and watery eyes, asthma or aggravated asthma involving breathing difficulties, wheezing or chest tightness; 
• Generalised allergic skin reactions involving itch, swelling, inflammation, redness and perhaps blistering and light sensitivity; 
• More serious generalised allergic reactions involving unexplained nausea and vomiting, swollen eyes, face or tongue, difficulty swallowing, dizziness or light-headedness. Unconsciousness could perhaps occur in the most serious cases. 
• Kidney problems, particularly in people who have a history of kidney disease. This may include decreased urine volume, loss of appetite/weight loss, swelling to abdomen. 
• Problems with the digestive system, including stomach pain and heartburn/indigestion.

How to use Ibuleve Speed Relief Gel

This product is not suitable for children under 12 years of age.

For children aged 12 and over and adults; 

• Apply the gel onto the affected area, enough to thinly cover the whole area. 
• Massage into the skin. 
• Repeat as needed, up to three times a day.

Wash your hands after applying.

If your symptoms persist for more than a few weeks, speak to your doctor or pharmacist.

Warnings for Ibuleve Speed Relief Gel

Do not use this medication if;

• You are allergic to ibuprofen or any of the other ingredients
• You are asthmatic, suffer from rhinitis or hives 
• You have ever had a bad reaction to aspirin, ibuprofen or other NSAIDs
• You are pregnant or breastfeeding
• You have broken or damaged skin

As Ibuleve is absorbed through the skin, there is less risk of the complications that can come with taking ibuprofen by mouth. However, in rare cases you may be at risk if;

• You have an active peptic ulcer
• You have a history of kidney problems
• You have ever had asthma
• You have ever had a bad reaction to aspirin or ibuprofen taken by mouth
