How do Novofine Pen Needles work?
Novofine needles are manufactured at a higher gauge than other needles. This means they are thinner, and thus cause less damage to the skin when injecting. Why use thinner needles?
The idea behind using a higher gauge needle is that, ideally, it should cause less damage to the tissue, and thus cause less pain. This can vary, depending on your tolerance for pain and the area you are injecting.
In some cases, thinner needles may not work as well - for instance, if your skin is thicker, or you lack the manual dexterity to use a thinner needle without it bending or tearing the skin. In these cases, you may need someone else to deliver the injection for you.
What does “gauge” mean?
