Nurofen Dosage
For adults, the elderly and children between 12 and 18 years old: Take 1 or 2 tablets with water, up to three times a day as required. You should leave a space of at least 4 hours between doses. The maximum dose is 6 tablets in 24 hours, do not take more than the maximum dose. It is not suitable for children under the age of 12 years.
Nurofen tablets should be used for short term relief.
For children between the ages of 12 and 18 years, you can use Nurofen tablets for up to 3 days. If symptoms worsen, or Nurofen is required for longer than 3 days, you should seek medical advice from a doctor.
Adults should not take Nurofen tablets for longer than 10 days, unless instructed to do so by a doctor. If symptoms persist or worse, you should ask your doctor or pharmacist for medical advice.

This medicine is not suitable for everyone.
You should not take this medicine if you:
- Have breathing difficulties
- An allergy to ibuprofen or any of the other ingredients, or to aspirin or other painkillers
- Have had stomach bleeds or perforation when taking NSAIDs (Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) in the past
- Are taking other NSAID painkillers or more than 75mg of aspirin a day
- Have severe kidney or liver problems
- Have (or have had two or more episodes of) a stomach ulcer, perforation or bleeding
- Have heart problems, high blood pressure or blood coagulation disorder
- Are in the last 3 months of pregnancy
- Have had a worsening of asthma, skin rash, itchy runny nose or facial swelling when previously taking ibuprofen, aspirin or similar medicines
