Which contraceptive pill is right for me?
There are two primary forms of contraceptive pill - combined contraceptive pills and progesterone-only pills. Combined pills tend to also contain an oestrogen, which can help with some menstrual issues.
Many women find that they need to try a few different pills before finding the one that suits them best. If you are unsure, your GP can help you choose which type (and brand) of pill might suit you best.
Does the pill affect your sex drive?
Some women may find that their sex drive decreases when they start the pill. This is a perfectly normal side effect, and can reduce over time. Some women find the lack of worry about getting pregnant can increase their sex drive.
How do I know if I am taking the wrong contraceptive pill?
The most common signs of being on the wrong pill are experiencing worse side effects than normal. While any pill can cause some minor side effects (such as acne, mood changes and nausea), these effects can be more pronounced when taking specific contraceptive pills.
Which is the right HRT treatment for me?
There are a wide variety of treatment options for HRT. Which one suits you best will come down to a number of factors, from your own personal needs to consideration about potential side effects and even delivery methods. If you are unsure, speak to your GP for more advice and a walk-through of your options.
What side effects can I expect on HRT?
The side effects you experience will vary depending on the type of HRT you are using. The most common side effects can include bloating/swelling, cramps, mood changes, nausea and acne.
How do I prevent cystitis from recurring?
There are some small habits that can help prevent recurring cystitis, including drinking plenty of water, peeing as soon as you need to go, and peeing after sex.
Are period delay pills safe?
Under normal circumstances, you can use period delay pills to move your period by a few days without issue. They are not suitable for all women - speak to your GP before using any period delay products.
