Silgel is developed from a pure silicone formulation and is classified as a device and not a medicine or drug, this means it should be used only upon the recommendations and instructions of a doctor.

Use on clean intact surfaces only.

The skin can be damaged in a multitude of ways that can be a burden to the patient particularly when it develops into hypertrophic or keloid scarring. Unacceptable scarring can be induced by a variety of factors including surgical incision, accidental trauma, burns, illness or disease.

Silgel has been developed to extend the concept of gel therapy by utilising high molecular weight silicone gel (polysiloxane). The purity of the material used to create Silgel and the simplicity of application enhances the product’s efficacy and clinical performance.

Though primarily developed for the management of hypertrophic and keloid scarring, the potential of Silgel has been recognised and utilised into additional diverse areas.

Associated erythema that frequently persists following re-surfacing treatments with carbon dioxide lasers, chemical peels and dermabrasion is now increasingly being managed with the use of polysiloxane.

Directions

Directions of use for Silgel Topical Gel

Silgel STC-SE should be used sparingly, as a small amount can be massaged well into the affected area. The viscosity of Silgel STC-SE is such that care should be taken to gently squeeze the tube to dispense the gel. If an excessive amount of SILGEL STC-SE is applied, the drying time is prolonged. Between applications wash the skin with a mild soap solution and rinse thoroughly. Apply a thin layer of gel to the affected area, one or two times per day, as instructed.

Gently massage into skin. Whilst there is no adverse effect to using more SILGEL STC-SE than as directed, clean away excess gel with a clean tissue.

Excess amounts may cause staining on overlaying clothing.

To protect clothing, wait 15 minutes after massaging and cover lightly with gauze or other material. It is not necessary to cover gel on exposed areas of skin.

Warnings for Silgel Topical Gel
