How To Use Nystan
The recommended dose for adults is 1ml of the suspension dropped into the mouth four times a day after each meal and before bedtime.
- Clean your teeth before applying the suspension (if you have dentures, remove them before using Nystan).
- Using the built in applicator pipette, measure 1ml by squeezing the bulb at the top of the pipette.
- Squirt the suspension into your mouth and swish it around for about 3 minutes.
- If you are treating an infection in your mouth or throat, try to keep the suspension in your mouth for as long as is comfortable; the longer the medicine is in contact with the site of infection, the better.
- Swallow the nystatin. Do not spit out.
Wait 15 minutes after using Nystan before eating or drinking.
If you miss a dose, do not double up - simply skip the missed dose and continue as usual.
It is recommended to continue to use Nystan for 2 days after the oral thrush symptoms have started to clear.
