Ingredients
Base:
- 2.5cm fresh ginger root, peeled and thinly slicedÂ
- 2.5cm fresh turmeric root, peeled and thinly sliced (or 1 teaspoon ground turmeric)Â
- 500ml waterÂ
Optional:
- 1 tablespoon honey Â
- Juice of 1/2 lemon Â
Method
- In a medium-sized pot, bring the water to a boil.Â
- Add the sliced ginger and turmeric to the boiling water, reduce the heat to low, and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes.Â
- Turn off the heat and strain the tea through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth.Â
- Add honey and lemon juice to taste, if desired.Â
- Serve the tea hot and enjoy!Â
