Before using weight loss injections, Sarah Le Brocq, an advocate and leader in the field of obesity, had tried every diet going. Nothing seemed to work.
She even went on a TV programme called Fat: The Fight of My Life in 2013, undergoing an intensive training regimen and overhauling her diet. But the weight started to creep back on after the show finished.
Just over a year ago, she came to Simple Online Pharmacy after trying unsuccessfully to get weight loss treatment through the NHS. Over a 14-month period using Wegovy, and with support from our team of clinical experts, Sarah has dropped five dress sizes.
“I’ve lost around 6 stone…in about 14 months,” she told presenters Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard on ITV’s This Morning.
“It’s Changed My Feelings Around Food”
As well as losing weight, Sarah said the medication has “changed my whole feeling around food.”
Sarah, a scientist by background, has developed a deep understanding of how the body might prevent people from losing weight by, for example, making you hungrier. She realised that not being able to lose weight “isn’t actually my fault” and there “are lots of things going on here that I can’t control.”
Unlike dieting, weight loss jabs work on a physiological level.
“Diet and exercise, calories in calories out, that’s the physics side of things,” she explains. “But when there’s a hormonal imbalance going on in your body, it isn’t that simple.
“What the medication does is regulate that hormonal imbalance in the gut and in the hypothalamus in the brain. So it stops you feeling hungry, makes you feel full quicker and it stops you craving certain foods.”
“Simple Online Pharmacy Offers a Lot of Support”
Sarah said she chose Simple Online Pharmacy “because they offer a lot of support.”
“They’ve got an app you can use that talks you through nutrition and psychological support, but also the physical side and getting active.
“They’re always there at the end of the phone if you need to speak to someone.”
