Overview

Nevolat Weight Loss Pens

You can buy liraglutide online as Nevolat or Saxenda from our UK-registered online pharmacy if prescribed.

This once daily injection helps people lose weight by reducing hunger and helping to control portion sizes.

Nevolat is available to order after completing a short assessment. If you're eligible for a prescription, our clinical team will process your treatment.

What Is Nevolat?

Nevolat is the generic version of Saxenda, this means they both contain the same active ingredient, liraglutide. Sometimes referred to as generic liraglutide.

This prescription-only medicine supports obesity management alongside a healthy diet and regular exercise.

Nevolat is part of the glucagon like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist family. It works by mimicking a natural hormone that regulates appetite.

Nevolat comes as a pre-filled injectable pen used once-daily under the skin of the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm.

You may be prescribed Nevolat if you:

  • Have a BMI of 30 or more, or
  • Have a BMI of 27 or more with weight-related conditions such as:
    • High blood pressure
    • High cholesterol
    • Sleep apnoea

Who Should Not Use Nevolat?

Liraglutide is not suitable for:

As part of the review process our clinical team consider possible interactions with other medication.

How Does Liraglutide Work?

Liraglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist. It works by mimicking a natural hormone, glucagon like peptide-1.

After eating, GLP-1 is released by your body. This sends a signal to the brain to signify satiety. In other words, the feeling of being full.

These receptors control feelings of hunger and how long the emptying of your stomach takes. Overall, this helps you feel fuller for longer - reducing snacking.

It works by helping:

  • Feeling fuller faster
  • Slowing digestion
  • Reducing appetite
  • Supporting a healthy energy balance

For more information, see the Patient Information Leaflet (PIL).

Effectiveness of Nevolat

Clinical trials show that patients using liraglutide over 12 months lost between 5-10% of their body weight.

If you lose less than 5% of your starting weight after 12 weeks on the full dose, your clinician may review your treatment.

Nevolat supports obesity management by reducing food noise and craving control.  This may reduce the risk of other weight related problems.
